A next-generation Hadrian X construction robot, featuring a 32m telescopic boom arm, has arrived in Florida after shipping from Australia. Developed by Perth-based FBR (formerly Fastbrick Robotics), the HadrianX can stack approximately 500 US-format masonry blocks per hour using quick‑dry adhesive instead of mortar, enabling wall construction up to three stories without stopping for rest or breaks.
After customs clearance, the unit will undergo Site Acceptance Testing at a Fort Myers facility – including structural engineer inspection – to confirm compliance with US building standards. Upon successful testing, CRHVentures will pay US$600,000 to FBR, and the robot will build the exterior walls of 5–10 single-story homes as part of a demonstration program. Completion of the demo will potentially trigger another US$400,000 and grant CRH the option to establish a “Wall as a Service” joint venture, with plans to deploy up to 300 HadrianX units for community-scale construction.
